Our universe was clothed in light
Pulling at the seams
Our once barren world
Now brims with life

No lifesaver by the beach

Of the gods
Pulled it away
From the unfathomable black

Light flooded the lands
Breathing life
Into the void
And angels
Into the stars above

They watched over the world
For many a millennial
Unaware of the soldier in their midst
The one who had fallen and reborn
In the lands deemed holy
Unaware of the ashes
Caught in his grace
And the blood lacing his halo

The feathers in his wings
Turned black over time
The burn of the fall
Etched on permanently
And still he remained
Filled with faith
And hope
Of finding himself
In a place where rules were followed
And never questioned

That we may fall in love
Every time we open up our eyes.
I guess space, and time,
Takes violent things, angry things
And makes them kind.
